Year 2 – Hedgehog class
Welcome to our Year 2 class page. This year it will be led by Mrs Romeril, with the support of Mrs Wakeling, the class teaching assistant. By the time your child starts Year 2, they have fully transitioned to formal learning. However, the learning is still very practical, fun and full of exciting learning opportunities for each and every child.
In Year 2, the children gain more and more independence – we look after our classroom and the resources, we all have a class job, we organise our book corner, start sticking in our own work and hand out and collect our books ourselves. We ensure that we put a big emphasis on routine, emotional literacy and fostering a growth mindset which helps to provide a happy and safe space where all children feel comfortable to try new things.
