Tag Rugby Match Report
Tag Rugby Borough Tournament.
Match report by Ryan T Y6
On Thursday 13th October the St Mary’s tag rugby team had a successful tournament at Dinton Field. The team warmed up and confidently had our first game against King Athelstan. Everyone was enjoying the game and we scored a load of tries and defended well to stop our opponents from scoring. We had a well-deserved 7-1 victory. There was no time to celebrate as Knollmead were facing us. After an amazing game of teamwork Knollmead didn’t stand a chance as we smashed them 5-0.
Maldon Manor was the only team in our way to get to the top of the group. We won 4-0 and went on to play the other group winners.
We were next up against Group F winners, Tolworth Juniors. It was very close but we won 2-1 with a last minute try. Next, Corpus Christi was a challenge as both teams were well trained but we ended with a 2-2 draw.
St Josephs were good but could not stop St Mary's winning streak. It was 2-1 to us. Lovelace couldn’t stop us either’ as we thrashed them 4-0. Ellingham were our last game and we won 2-1. To become Borough Champions.
Daisy, John, Rian, Mason, Browndon, Holly, Olivia, Briana and I are overwhelmed at our victory but couldn’t have did it without the help of Russ, Callum and Mrs Fouracre. We would like to them a big THANK YOU. We can always win if you practise and believe.
GO SAINTS!!!!
