Headteacher’s Welcome

I would like to wish you a warm welcome to St Mary’s Primary School. We are a small, nurturing one form entry school in Chessington with a big family of committed staff and pupils. We aspire to be the absolute best we can be and we love to learn! We believe that each one of us is unique and that learning must be tailored to help everyone to fulfil their potential. We want all pupils to feel happy, safe and valued. At St Mary’s, we believe that learning must be meaningful and memorable so that our pupils are prepared for the next stage of their education and beyond. We place the children at the centre of all we do and build upon the foundations of knowledge and skills they have.

Within a secure and nurturing environment, we strive to develop the potential of each pupil in partnership with our families, staff and governors.

If you would like to find out more about our school, then we would love to welcome you to visit us.

Dear Reception class Parents,

As you know, we are planning to hold our 'Beach Day' on Thursday 17th July to finish off our 'Travel Round the World' & holidays learning. Your child may come to school wearing beach clothes for the day to help us celebrate!

As we reflect on the year gone by, I would like to share with you all that I have felt honoured to teach your children this term. I shall miss them all very much and I have had so much fun teaching your children this Summer Term. I feel honoured to see the progress they have all made and know you will all feel very proud of them.

I have a family commitment which means that I will sadly miss the last 3 days of this Term. This was a commitment that was already planned before I joined St Mary's this year. The class will be led by Mrs King and a supply teacher called Mrs Adrianna Veale from Friday 18th to 22nd July. Mrs Veale will have all learning plans ready to teach for the children on these days.

We will be enjoying some splashing & water games if it is warm outside, so please could you send in spare set of clothes in case we get messy!  Please put on sun cream for the day as we will be spending lots of time outside (unless it is really hot and we will come in to keep cool) We will plan to have ice lolly treats too!  We will also use the day to celebrate the children's fantastic learning over the year, before they start their journey into Year 1.

If you have any questions about Beach Day please respond on weduc or the Butterfly Class email address or speak to Mrs King or I at the gate in the morning or at collection. Thank you all for all your support over the last Term it is much appreciated.

School finishes at 1:15pm on the 22nd July. I hope you and your families have a lovely break.

Mrs Reid
