Sharing poems and stories with your child
Sharing poems and retelling well known stories support and encourage children to develop their language skills and most importantly foster a love of reading from the early years. We have collated some of our favourite poems and stories for you to share together before you start in September.
Starting school is exciting but can be a little scary for some! We have attached a list of books below which you might like to investigate over the coming weeks which are all about starting school. Enjoy!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson
The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson
We're Going on a Bear Hunt written and performed by Michael Rosen
Giraffes can't Dance by Giles Andreae
The Very Quiet Cricket by Eric Carle
