Nursery

We have a maximum of 26 spaces in our nursery class, made up of part time (morning only) and full time (morning & afternoon) places. Our staff are knowledgeable and experienced and we pride ourselves on our warm, caring, child centred ethos. Please visit our class page to see what we have been learning or contact the school office to arrange a visit. We will be holding an Open Afternoon on Tuesday 29th January from 1.30-2.30 pm when we will be delighted to show you around our nursery.

Part Time Places

We offer 15 hours per week (3 hours every morning) of fully funded nursery education to all children in the term following their 3rd birthday. We currently have 1 space available in our nursery class. If your child was born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 and you are interested in a place, please contact the school office.

Full Time Places

We recognise the increasing demands placed upon working parents and in order to support the needs of our families, we are pleased to be able to offer an additional 15 hours of funded childcare in the afternoon for eligible parents. Parent funded afternoon places may also be available for parents who are not eligible for funding, please ask the office for more details. Please see the 30 hours guide for parents below which has more detail about the eligibility criteria.

Children staying for the afternoon session can either bring a packed lunch or ISS, the school caterers can provide a hot meal for £2.20 a day booked through their website.

All parents are able to claim the 15 hours of universal funded childcare available after their child's third birthday for the morning nursery sessions. For parents who wish their children to stay in the afternoons, an additional 15 hours of funded childcare is available for eligible parents. Parent funded afternoon places may also be available for parents who are not eligible for funding, please ask the office for more details. Please see the 30 hours guide for parents below which has more details about the eligibility criteria.

The maximum number of funded hours which can be claimed each week is 30. At St Mary's we offer up to 32.5 hours for children who stay every afternoon (8.50am-3.20pm daily). There will therefore be a small additional charge to cover the non-funded hours. Parents whose children do not attend every afternoon session are able to claim 3.5 hours a day of the additional funding, in which case there will be no additional charge.

Lunch Club

Parents may choose to extend the morning session to 1pm by enrolling their child in Lunch Club. This can be claimed as part of your additional hours if you are eligible or paid for at an hourly rate of 5.21

All parents who want to access any of the additional 15 hours needs to go to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to apply for an eligibility code. Parents will then need to bring this eligibility code to St Mary’s along with their NI number and proof of the child’s date of birth and the completed declaration form (attached below) as soon as possible. This form gives us consent to check eligibility and claim the funding on your behalf. Once eligibility has been checked and confirmed we will then confirm the funded place to you. You will need to reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months to continue to receive the funded place.
