Homework
We believe that home learning allows children to make links between the learning they do in school and other areas of their life and provides an opportunity for children to consolidate the learning that has taken place in school as well as developing independence as they progress through primary school.
We aim to ensure a consistent approach across the school which builds gradually as children move from EYFS to KS1 then KS2 and paves the way for the home learning expectations of secondary school.
All homework will be shared via Google classroom and will be made available every Thursday throughout the term. We do not set homework during school holidays, although some optional work may be offered in key year groups.
The homework expectations across the school are as follows;
Nursery | A selection of fun and practical activities to support learning at home will be shared termly |
Reception | Daily reading practice and practical maths activities shared weekly |
Key Stage 1 | Daily reading practice and weekly practical maths homework Year 1 will have a weekly picture comprehension task Year 2 will have a weekly picture or reading comprehension task |
